This last week, our last computer crashed.
It had the pieces of the last two installments of the story on there. They were waiting for Jeff and I to sit down and finish them. They were all but done. Now, they are all tucked away in the “unopenable vault” of my desk top.
Since starting this project, we’ve had three computers go down. Both desktops and the lap top. Right now, the laptop is up and seemingly doing well – there are just three of us vying for it, for our work.
Jeff and I have been planning on finishing the stories today – please pray for us to remember what we had written before and get both of them posted today.
Thank you for your encouragement and support…and threats. You know who you are – filling my inbox with vicious threats if we don’t finish this up soon.
SCARY!!!

Alasdair didn’t remember getting on the ground, so he wasn’t quite certain how he got there. In fact, the last thing he remembered was being hit in the head with the pommel of someone’s sword. He tried to move. His feet were tied to the tree, like an animal. His arms were tied together behind him. He could honestly say this wasn’t the most comfortable he’d ever been, but it wasn’t the worst he’d ever felt, either. Close….but not quite. Continue Reading »

Berrick shifted in his seat. He knew that the hour was late and the children should be getting into bed, but no one was making any indication that was going to be happening any time soon – not even Brogan. He noted, as he shifted, that Beagan had drawn Breda closer. How like the love of a brother for his sister to be revealed. Continue Reading »

Berrick paused to drink a bit of cider, looking about the room. He didn’t want to pause too long, because it hurt so badly. He especially didn’t want to look into Brogan’s eyes. He couldn’t bear to see the pain that reliving this night was sure to cause him. Continue Reading »

Alasdair reached for the knife he kept in his boot. He wasn’t going down without a fight. But, as he did, the moonlight caught the face of his captor and he realized it was Abrianna’s youngest brother, Rodan.

Breda giggled. “Grandfather, did Aidan REALLY call the queen Abby?”
Berrick smiled, “All the time. He mostly did it because it annoyed her, but he also did it because he loved her very much. Abrianna loved all her brothers, but she and Aidan had a special love for one another that none of the other siblings could share. I suspect you and Breagan have a little bit of that, being twins. As much as you love your other siblings, there’s still something special between the two of you.”
Breda and Breagan looked at one another and grinned. They did understand that. Continue Reading »

After the intensity of the summit, Alasdair just wanted to run away and hide for a few days. Sadly, however, he knew that would have to wait for another time.
For six full months after the summit, the Dalravians experienced a strange lull in the insurrections – it was just enough to put them all on edge even more. When it was obvious a mighty storm was coming across the water – the people braced themselves, for they knew the raiders had a propensity for hiding themselves in the storms and attacking when the storm reached its peak.
